Services

Our Hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pet’s complete health needs. Specialists can also be contacted for emergency consultation if necessary.

Our services include but are not limited to an in-house Laboratory, Pharmacy, Radiology, Ocular Tonometry, Oxygen Therapy, Surgery, Anesthesia Monitory, Ultrasound, Echocardiology, Telemedicine, and Endoscopy.

Laboratory:

Our in-house laboratory facilities allow us to analyze serum, blood, urine, feces, and cells. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories when necessary.

Pharmacy:
We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals for our critical patients. Due to the emergency nature of our hospital, we do not stock tick or flea preventatives, heartworm preventatives, vaccines, or prescription diets. Please contact your family veterinarian for these supplies.
Radiology Services:

Our on-site digital x-ray equipment provides high-quality radiographs which aid in the quick diagnosis of many disorders. We frequently have radiographs reviewed by a board-certified radiologist via telemedicine . Results are available within a few hours.

When your pet has radiographs (x-rays) taken at our facility, we will provide those radiographs for your family veterinarian to review.

Ocular Tonometry:
Pressure is measured within the eye to help diagnose glaucoma and inflammation of the eye.
Oxygen Therapy:
Our hospital is well equipped with oxygen. We are quickly able to provide high concentrations of oxygen when needed by a patient. Oxygen can also be provided long term if needed.
Surgery:
Our well trained doctors can perform most surgeries commonly required to treat emergency cases. Our facility is equipped with a state-of-the-art surgical suite .We perform procedures such as gastric torsion repairs , caesarean sections, abdominal exploratories, gastrointestinal surgeries, laceration repairs, minor orthopedic procedures plus many more. If your pet is in need of one of the few highly specialized procedures we cannot perform, we can refer the case to a veterinary surgical specialist.
Anesthesia Monitoring:

Anesthetic protocols are specially tailored for your pet. For this reason, presurgical blood work is recommended.

We also use the most modern monitoring equipment to monitor patient’s vital signs during anesthetic procedures. Monitoring devices may include pulse-oximetry, Doppler blood pressure, EKG, capnography, and respiratory monitors to track your pet’s heart rate, respiration, temperature, and blood pressure. Our caring and well-trained licensed veterinary technicians continually monitor your pet during the surgical procedure.

Your pet is closely monitored at all times pre and postoperatively to ensure the best and safest possible care.

Ultrasonography:

We have a state-of-the-art ultrasound machine. This is a non-invasive way of examining your pet’s internal organs. Ultrasound “reads” the internal organs differently than x-rays.  Often both diagnostic tests may be necessary to provide the best information to our medical team to help determine a diagnosis for your pet.

Echocardiography:
Ultrasound is also used to look inside the heart and measure function. Whereas radiographs view the size and shape of the external heart, echocardiography can actually visualize the inside of the heart, the heart valves and blood flow.
Telemedicine:
This is a branch of medicine that evolved with the internet revolution. It involves sending medical data and images through the internet to another doctor or specialist to assess and give their opinion. This is not unlike having an entire hospital full of specialists. It enables us to get the most accurate and rapid diagnosis for your pet. This is most commonly used for radiographs, ultrasound and echocardiology. It is essentially the same as having a board certified specialist in the building 24/7.
Endoscopy:
AETC has endoscopy technology to get a look deep inside the body noninvasively. The endoscope is a thin, flexible fiber-optic tube used to examine a patient for abnormalities such as stomach ulcers or inflammation not detected by radiographs or ultrasound. Endoscopy is also used frequently to remove a foreign body in the stomach and avoid surgery.
