ER Veterinarian
Summary:
Client oriented veterinarian wishing to practice high quality emergency medicine/surgery in our well-equipped 24 hour emergency practice. Desire to work with fully trained staff and to promote excellent patient care and client education.
General:
- Diagnose and treat diseases and injuries of pets, primarily dogs and cats.
- Examine animals to determine nature of disease or injury and treat animals surgically or medically
- Advise animal owners about sanitary measures, feeding, and general care to promote health of animals.
- Present oneself in a professional manner and act accordingly
Experience:
- at least 2 years working in an emergency clinic environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations and/or policies and procedures.
- Principles, theories, and practices of veterinary medicine and surgery.
Skills / Ability To:
- Diagnose medical and surgical conditions.
- Speak clearly, concisely and effectively; listen to and understand information and ideas as presented verbally
- Communicate fluently in English
- Communicate information and ideas clearly and concisely in writing
- Deal with people in a manner which shows sensitivity, tact, and professionalism
- Use automated software applications
- Use computer word processing software
Required Education:
- Doctorate degree in Veterinary Medicine and Surgery
Other Requirements and Characteristics:
- Valid driver’s license required to drive a motor vehicle.
- A WA state background check may apply

Internal Medicine Specialist
Animal Emergency and Specialty Center (AESC) located in beautiful Poulsbo, Washington, is interested in adding a Full or Part-time Board Certified Internist.
AESC has previously supported an internist in a 3-day per week capacity and has the potential to be full-time based on caseload. The hospital is the only 24/7 ER servicing three counties (Kitsap, Jefferson, and Clallam). You will be joining a surgeon and an elite ER team.
AESC recently moved into a brand-new hospital. The new hospital provided additional space for:
- 4 exam rooms
- 2 procedure rooms
- Endoscope
- 2 Ultrasound machines – 1 portable
- CT
- ICU
- Separate cat ward
- 2 isolations rooms
- Surgery prep and 3 surgery suites
- MRI is planned for the future

Licensed Veterinary Technician
Summary:
Good working knowledge and experience in veterinary nursing, instrumentation, anesthesia induction, anesthesia maintenance, anesthesia monitoring, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, pharmacology, radiography, and laboratory procedures.
Attention to detail, excellent observation skills, and meticulous record keeping.
General:
You will assist in the following type of procedures:
- Physical examinations
- Anesthesia and surgery
- Endoscopy
- Ultrasound
- Emergency procedures
- Hospital housekeeping
- Client education
- Patient records
Experience:
- At least 2 years working in and emergency hospital a plus but not required. A good skill set is required.
Job Skills / Duties:
- Obtain and record patient histories, perform triage exams
- Collect specimens and perform laboratory procedures
- Provide specialized nursing care
- Prepare animals, instruments, and equipment for surgery
- Assist in diagnostic, medical and surgical procedures
- Obtain quality digital radiographs
- Stock and maintain pharmaceuticals and supplies
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the facility and equipment
- Primary responsibility is the humane care of the patients
Customer Service Representative
Summary:
This position requires advanced computer knowledge and the ability to learn practice software. Excellent customer service skills also required. It is necessary that candidates for this position have the ability to follow direction with or without supervision. Candidates are expected to dress and act professionally.
General:
- The candidate must have strong keyboarding skills, computer knowledge and excellent record keeping abilities.
Experience:
- Time working in the medical environment is a plus but not required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The following is a general description of the nature and level of work to be performed:
- Welcoming clients and determining the nature of the visit to the hospital
- Entering clients/patients into practice software program
- Accessing/modifying patient records and processing record transfers
- Invoicing and taking deposits for services rendered
- Use positive customer service skills for client and staff communication
- Responding to client needs typical for emergency hospital services
- Providing specialty paperwork/forms to clients for financial arrangements and emergency care
- Mastering computer knowledge of practice software
- Utilizing standard office/business equipment
- Maintaining, developing, and editing client records, profiles, invoices and estimates
- Documenting specialized information regarding client information into databases
